TransUnion Named a Top Employer Again as People Practices Pay Off

Information and insights company TransUnion South Africa has been named as a top employer for the second successive year by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), a global authority on recognising excellence in people practices in the workplace.

The Top Employers Institute assesses HR best practices worldwide, and recognises the employers that provide employees with the best working conditions and opportunities for personal and professional development. TransUnion South Africa is one of just 1,700 companies in 120 countries to have been certified and recognised since the TEI’s establishment 30 years ago.

TransUnion Africa CEO Lee Naik said the company saw its talent and people practices as critical drivers of business growth, both locally and globally.

“TransUnion Africa recognises the importance of our people in delivering success for our business.  Throughout the pandemic we have focused on creating a work culture and environment that has allowed our people to deal with dynamics that challenged them and their families. This strategy has allowed us realise both a highly engaged workforce and a sustained ability for our business to thrive in uncertain times,” said Naik

The company’s ongoing drive to attract the best talent in the market has been boosted by the opening of its South Africa Global Capability Centre (GCC) last year. The virtual centre has already created several hundred jobs as it scales up to provide support to TransUnion markets across the world, including the United States and Canada.

TransUnion Africa’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Ndivhu Nepfumbada, said being certified as a Top Employer showcased the organisation’s dedication to a better world of work through excellent HR policies and people practices. The TEI programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practices Survey. This survey covers six HR domains, and includes areas like people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, wellbeing and diversity and inclusion.

“The Top Employers certification highlights the fact that our people are core to our success. They continually take every opportunity they can to make an impact and transform the lives of those around them and their customers. We’re thrilled to be acknowledged as an innovative employer with a vibrant culture that provides associates meaningful professional growth and personal fulfilment opportunities,” said Nepfumbada.
