Global information and insights company TransUnion Africa has named experienced finance leader Sharon Naidoo as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Sharon, a qualified Chartered Accountant with a masters’ degree in Financial Management, has more than 18 years’ experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, financial accounting and operations. She joins TransUnion from Ricoh Africa, where she was CFO, with financial oversight of the South African market.

“Sharon is a passionate and innovative finance executive, and her expertise will play an important part of our growth strategy in 2021 and beyond,” said Lee Naik, CEO of TransUnion Africa. “Her belief in collaborative leadership and her commitment to excellence through teamwork is a great fit with our organisation.”

Sharon, who takes up her new position in February 2021, previously held leadership roles at KFC Africa, Kellogg’s Africa and Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals. As CFO at TransUnion Africa, she will lead and oversee the finance and accounting activities for all TransUnion Africa’s regions, and will partner with the executive team to drive the company’s ambitious growth strategy and long-term expansion objectives.

“I’ve long admired TransUnion’s commitment to using data and insights to help its customers and consumers across Africa navigate a fast-changing modern business environment,” said Sharon. “I’m looking forward to joining the leadership team of this dynamic business as we look to tackle the challenges and opportunities that will help our continent realise its potential.”
